Each school sets its own order for Phase F topics, so two grade 11 students can arrive at very different starting points. A physics tutor first checks which chapters the student has already covered, such as kinematics, which now sits in grade 10, and then plans sessions around school tests, TKA Physics, or the OSN olympiad.

High school physics tutoring pairs one tutor with one SMA learner in grades 10 to 12 for motion, force, energy, and electricity, starting at Rp79,000 per hour. Under Kurikulum Merdeka, grade 10 meets physics inside integrated science (Phase E), and in grades 11 and 12 it becomes a Phase F elective that leads into the TKA Physics exam.
Physics lessons happen at the student's home, online, or in a small group. Physics tutoring is offered per 60, 90, or 120 minutes, and the rate table below is calculated on a 90-minute session.
The physics tutor comes to the student's home. Useful for chapters that benefit from simple props, such as circuits or inclined planes.
Price on the 28-session monthly plan, 90-minute sessions. Fewer meetings, higher price per session.
Physics over Zoom or Google Meet with a digital whiteboard, handy for sketching force diagrams and graphs together.

Online and in-person cost the same — the gap between these cards is session length, nothing else.
This outline follows the BSKAP learning outcomes decree 046/H/KR/2025 and the 2025 BSKAP subject guide for Phase F Physics. The tutor matches the sequence to the learning path used at the student's own school.
Phase F learning outcomes are not split between grade 11 and grade 12; each school decides the order. The BSKAP guide also lets schools add topics beyond its list and puts student progress ahead of racing through coverage. Schools still running Kurikulum 2013 treat physics as a science-stream (MIPA) subject from grade 10, and tutors follow that syllabus instead.
Grade 10 has no subject called Physics yet. Its physics content lives in IPA together with chemistry and biology, with an emphasis on scientific work. Tutoring at this stage keeps measurement and calculation habits sharp before Physics becomes its own subject.
The largest block of elective Physics. Students model how motion and force relate, then carry the same laws over to liquids and gases in motion.
Chapters that lean heavily on graphs and diagrams. The BSKAP guide suggests circuit projects such as a simple flashlight and a capacitor-based delay switch for a lamp.
The chapters closest to everyday technology: X-rays, nuclear energy, radiotherapy, and the semiconductors inside every phone.
Phase F Physics also assesses how a student investigates. Tutors practise all six sub-skills through small experiments and short write-ups, moving between them as the topic needs.
Every question in Pusmendik's six TKA Physics elements, kinematics through electricity, targets one of three cognitive levels: understanding, application, or reasoning. TKA 2026 content stops at the middle of semester 5.
A grade 10 student, a grade 12 student facing TKA, and an olympiad hopeful need very different sessions. The physics tutor plans around each of them.
In grade 10, physics is mixed in with chemistry and biology, so the calculation side can slip. Tutoring keeps measurement, significant figures, and two-dimensional motion solid ahead of choosing electives in grade 11.
Recommended:
Grade 11 is where Physics becomes an elective studied in depth, and new chapters arrive back to back: Newton, momentum, rotation, fluids. A grade 11 physics tutor follows the chapter order used at the student's school.

TKA for SMA in 2026 runs from 26 October to 8 November over four days, with the two elective subjects on day four. Results count as a component of SNBP 2027. UTBK-SNBT has no separate physics test, so grade 12 physics tutoring centres on TKA and school exams.

OSN for SMA in 2026 was open to grades 10 and 11, plus grade 9 SMP students, with Physics as one of nine fields. The stages run OSN-S, OSN-K, OSN-P, a national semifinal, and the national final. The next cycle follows Puspresnas announcements.

Students taking IGCSE Physics, AS and A-Level, or the IB Diploma Programme can work with a tutor who follows their school syllabus and its English-language terminology.

Phase F also applies to the Paket C equivalency program. Independent learners can use a physics tutor to keep a steady pace and to check understanding chapter by chapter.

The BSKAP guide itself names difficulty with concepts, symbols, and physical models. Physics education research in Indonesia shows which chapters those difficulties cluster in. Here is how a high school physics tutor works through each one.
Why it happens
Daily life suggests things stop unless pushed, because friction is easy to overlook. Newton's first law allows the object to be at rest or moving at constant velocity.
How we fix it
Before any formula, the student draws a free-body diagram and names every force. The tutor then brings in constant-velocity cases, such as a box pulled across a smooth floor, until the student can explain them unaided.
Why it happens
A 2016 three-tier test study found 44.83% of respondents held this belief. The same study recorded other misconceptions: bulbs treated as something other than resistors, and current thought to prefer one branch.
How we fix it
The tutor builds circuits up from the simplest case, asks the student to predict the current at several points, and checks each prediction against Ohm's and Kirchhoff's laws. Wrong predictions become the discussion.
Why it happens
In one SMA class of 22 students studied in 2023, only 6% fully understood fluid dynamics, 55.2% understood it partly, and 20.2% held misconceptions.
How we fix it
The work starts with pressure in still fluids before moving to flow. Examples come from garden hoses, spray nozzles, and aircraft wings, so every symbol has something real behind it.
Why it happens
The BSKAP guide lists reading and numeracy as supporting skills that are often limited. A student may know the formula yet struggle to spot which quantities the question gives.
How we fix it
Tutor and student read the problem together, mark each quantity with its unit, and plan the steps before plugging in numbers. Checking units at the end becomes a habit.
Why it happens
Kinematics now belongs to Phase E. The BSKAP guide asks Phase F teachers to confirm students have covered it, since the Newton chapters build on it.
How we fix it
The first physics tutoring session includes a short diagnostic. If straight-line and two-dimensional motion are shaky, the tutor closes that gap before moving on to dynamics.
Tutors can use reasoned multiple-choice items, a format common in misconception research, to see the thinking behind an answer. A right answer reached for the wrong reason still gets discussed.
The six tutors on these cards studied Physics or Physics Education at six different universities, and each campus and major comes from the tutor's own education record. Each grade 10, 11, or 12 learner is paired with a tutor around three things: the Phase E or Phase F chapter in progress, the hours open in their week, and how they learn most comfortably.

Physics, Universitas Hasanuddin
Force diagrams before Newton's formulas“Newton's laws problems in grade 11 usually fall apart at step one, when the forces on the block have not been drawn yet. Ibnu, who studied Physics at Universitas Hasanuddin, has learners sketch the free body diagram first and then derives the equations with them.”

Physics Education, Universitas Negeri Surabaya
Tidying up grade 10 measurement basics“Grade 10 keeps physics inside the science subject, and significant figures and unit conversion often slip past there. With a Physics Education background from Universitas Negeri Surabaya, Novi builds short measurement drills so learners are ready when Physics stands on its own in grade 11.”

Physics Education, Universitas Negeri Malang
Reading motion graphs slowly“Position versus time and velocity versus time graphs look alike to many high school learners. Chitra studied Physics Education at Universitas Negeri Malang, and in sessions she asks learners to describe a graph in their own words before working out its area or slope.”

Physics Education, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta
Fluids and pressure through household examples“A water tap, a bicycle pump, and the gallon bottle on a dispenser are where Bhilan starts when covering static and moving fluids. Studying Physics Education at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta got him used to breaking a dense chapter into small questions a learner can answer one at a time.”

Physics, Universitas Padjadjaran
Electricity and magnetism step by step“Direct current circuits, magnetic fields, and induction often feel abstract because the current cannot be seen. Laela has a Physics background from Universitas Padjadjaran and likes tracing the direction of current with learners, one branch of the circuit at a time, until Kirchhoff's rules feel natural.”

Physics, Universitas Islam Negeri Yogyakarta
TKA Physics practice sorted by chapter“Ahead of TKA Physics, grade 12 learners need to know which chapters are still shaky. Hastin, who has a Physics background from Universitas Islam Negeri Yogyakarta, uses mixed problem sets and then sorts the mistakes by chapter, so the remaining study time goes to the parts that need it most.”

Each SMA physics chapter borrows its tools from the chapter before, so the subject climbs one step at a time. In grade 10 (Phase E) students have no subject called Physics yet. Its content sits inside IPA, the integrated science subject: measurement systems, significant figures, and kinematics including two-dimensional motion. This part looks simple, and it is where vectors, position-time graphs, and splitting a velocity into x and y components first appear, staying in use all the way to grade 12.
Once Physics becomes a Phase F elective, the usual order runs from Newton's laws to work and energy, then momentum, rotational dynamics, and the equilibrium of rigid bodies. Static and dynamic fluids reuse those ideas of force and energy for matter that flows. Heat, thermodynamics, oscillations, waves, and sound bring a lot of graphs. Electrostatics leads into current electricity, magnetic fields, electromagnetic induction, and alternating current. Modern physics and basic digital theory, such as semiconductors and logic gates, usually arrive last.
The Phase F learning outcomes do not assign chapters to grade 11 or grade 12, so each school sets its own sequence. That is why high school physics tutoring opens by asking which chapters the student has and has not covered in class. A student stuck on electromagnetic induction is often still shaky on magnetic fields, and the tutor traces back to the loose step before moving on.
Physics tutoring pays off most when the student keeps practising between two sessions. Physics trains the habit of modelling what happens, so home practice looks different from a memorisation subject. These habits can run every week:
- Draw first, calculate later. For dynamics problems, sketch a free-body diagram. For circuit problems, redraw the circuit neatly. - Write each quantity with its unit before picking a formula, then check the unit of the final answer. Conversion slips, such as cm to m or grams to kilograms, are easy to prevent this way. - Keep an error notebook. Record the question, why the answer went wrong, and the correct steps. The notebook becomes the opening material for the next session. - Explain it out loud, as if teaching a classmate. The part where the explanation stalls is usually the part not yet understood. - Try small experiments with things at home: a pendulum made of thread and a nut for oscillations, a garden hose for continuity, or a battery and small bulb for series and parallel circuits.
Those small experiments match the Process Skills element of the Phase F outcomes, which trains students to observe, predict, investigate, analyse data, reflect, and communicate results. For online physics sessions, the recording stays in the EduPoint learner app, so a student can rewatch how a free-body diagram was built and open the self-study material there before trying problems alone. Short, regular practice, say 20 to 30 minutes a day, is easier to sustain than one long night before a test.
School physics assessment comes in several forms: chapter quizzes, end-of-semester exams, lab reports, and projects. Each school sets the format and weighting, so a high school physics tutor needs to know the student's assessment calendar at the start of each month.
The BSKAP Physics Phase F subject guide asks schools to align learning objectives, learning steps, and assessment. In class this usually shows up in three stages: understanding a concept through inquiry, applying it to a real-world problem, then reflecting. Quiz questions increasingly come as cases, for example heat linked to climate change, or waves linked to devices around the house.
Before a chapter quiz, sessions follow a graded sequence: concept questions without numbers, direct calculation, then case questions. For projects, the BSKAP guide gives examples such as a simple flash lamp, a capacitor-based delay for switching off a light, and a touchless switch built on an electroscope. The tutor helps the student plan the design, predict the outcome, and tidy up the report, while the build and the experiment stay the student's own work. Modern physics topics such as X-rays, nuclear energy, and radiotherapy suit reading summaries and analysis questions.
When a marked quiz comes back, bring it to the next session. The mistakes on that sheet are the most honest map of which chapters a grade 11 or grade 12 physics student should revisit.
For SMA students, TKA 2026 runs across two full weeks, from 26 October through 8 November, split into two waves, with special sessions on 31 October to 1 November and 7 to 8 November. The test spans four days with one subject per day, and Physics, as an elective, is sat on day four together with the second elective. Content is limited to the middle of semester 5, so semester 6 chapters are left out. Results count as one component of SNBP 2027, with the announcement scheduled for 23 December 2026.
The Pusmendik page for SMA TKA Physics lists six elements: kinematics, dynamics, fluids, waves, heat and thermodynamics, and electricity. A few limits are worth noting. Projectile motion uses a horizontal reference plane, circular motion is limited to uniform circular motion, and measurement covers the vernier caliper, micrometer screw gauge, triple-beam balance, and reporting significant figures. Questions are set at three cognitive levels, namely understanding, application, and reasoning, as single items and grouped items.
TKA physics preparation that starts close to test day leans on quick mapping: one mixed set to see which element is weakest, then focused practice on it. A 120-minute session leaves room to work through a timed block of questions and review it straight away. Reasoning-level questions need their own share of time, because the student has to read a graph or data set before calculating anything.
UTBK-SNBT has no separate physics test, so grade 12 physics preparation centres on the TKA and school exams.
A physics tutor can go straight to the right chapter when they hold the full picture of the learner from session one. Before private physics tutoring starts, gather the student's grade, the school curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka, Kurikulum 2013, or an international curriculum such as IGCSE or IB), the textbook in use, the current chapter, and the date of the next quiz. A marked quiz paper helps a great deal, because it lets the tutor separate calculation slips from concept errors.
Session length works best when it follows the need. A 60-minute meeting keeps the pace of one chapter a week, 90 minutes allows concept discussion followed by practice, and 120 minutes suits a practice block or project work. Monthly plans range between 4 and 28 meetings, and physics slots are open from 06.00 until 23.00, so a session can follow extracurricular practice or land on a Sunday morning before a Monday quiz.
During a session, students are encouraged to flag what confuses them as early as possible, however small it seems. A mistaken belief, such as current getting used up after passing through a bulb, only surfaces when the student explains the reasoning in their own words. In online sessions, the digital whiteboard and screen sharing are used for free-body diagrams, graphs, and circuit simulations.
Progress is tracked through regular reports in the learner app. If vectors or circuits still feel hard to follow in the tutor's explanations after a few meetings, tell the EduPoint team on WhatsApp. A tutor change can be requested at no extra cost, and the team then finds another SMA physics tutor who suits the student's needs.
