Most theses stall at the same points. Spot these six traps early so you do not lose months of work.
A problem statement that is too broad
Why it happens
Students want to cover many things at once, so the research loses focus.

Narrow it to one specific, measurable question. Exploring one problem deeply beats touching many at the surface.
A method disconnected from the objective
Why it happens
The method is chosen because it is trendy or seems easy, without regard to the research objective.

Define what you want to answer first, then choose the method. Testing an effect calls for quantitative, while exploring meaning fits qualitative.
Theory and data left disconnected

Chapter 2 piles up theory that is never used again when discussing findings in Chapters 4 and 5.
