What Is Private Tutoring Banjarmasin and How Does the Service Work?
Private tutoring Banjarmasin means a teacher comes to your home at the hour the learner picks, or teaches online whenever that is more practical. One Banjarmasin tutor handles one student, so lesson order, speed, and explanation style are tuned to that student, including walking back through the problem they could not crack at school or on campus this afternoon. Our teachers are recruited from Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM, the oldest university in Kalimantan, founded in 1958) and UIN Antasari, centered in North Banjarmasin, and each passes five selection stages before teaching. The cost is clear from the start: Rp 62,000 opens the elementary tier for one 60-minute visit, and replacing a tutor never carries an extra charge. Because Banjarmasin is split by the Martapura River and its tributaries, travel between districts often loops far along bridges. Tutoring that comes to your home removes that trip: the teacher arrives in Kayutangi, Kelayan, or Sungai Andai, and the session can move online when the after-work bridge queue runs long.
Key Benefits
- Tutors from ULM, the oldest campus in Kalimantan, based on Jl. Brigjen Hasan Basri, North Banjarmasin
- Tutors from UIN Antasari for religious studies, Arabic, and Quran recitation
- Schedules that work around the bridge traffic and tidal rhythm typical of Banjarmasin
- In-person at home or online via an interactive digital whiteboard
- Preparation for ULM, UIN Antasari, and favorite schools such as SMAN 1 and SMAN 7
Suitable For
- Students aiming for SMAN 1, SMAN 5, or SMAN 7 Banjarmasin
- Prospective ULM and UIN Antasari students preparing for UTBK and independent pathways
- Students and adult learners in Kelayan, Pekapuran, and riverside neighborhoods who find it more convenient when the tutor comes to their home
- Children and adult learners who want fluent Quran recitation and Arabic with UIN Antasari tutors
- ULM students needing help with assignments and theses

Almi L.
Biology Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia
Many students in Banjarmasin memorise biology terms without picturing what actually happens inside a cell or out in the wetlands around them. Almi, a Biology Education graduate of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, invites students to observe the process through real examples first, before moving on to diagrams and tables.
Expertise:
Biology and Science for junior to senior high
Saupi M.
Arabic Language Education, UIN Antasari Banjarmasin
Quran recitation sounds beautiful when the articulation points and vowel lengths are kept right from the start. Saupi studied Arabic Language Education at UIN Antasari Banjarmasin, and guides children across the Banjar area to pronounce the Hijaiyah letters clearly, polishing one verse until it is steady before moving to the next.
Expertise:
Quran recitation and tahsin
Putri G.
Arabic Language Education, Universitas Islam Negeri Antasari
Arabic begins to feel logical once students grasp the recurring word patterns behind the vocabulary. With a background in Arabic Language Education at Universitas Islam Negeri Antasari, Putri leads Banjarmasin students to recognise root words and simple sentence structures first, so reading a text feels lighter.
Expertise:
Arabic and its basic grammar
Ayu A.
Accounting, STIE Pancasetia Banjarmasin
Accounting often feels complicated because students face the ledger before understanding where the money flows. Ayu, an Accounting graduate of STIE Pancasetia Banjarmasin, helps high schoolers read a transaction as the story of money coming in and going out first, then record it correctly into debit and credit.
Expertise:
Economics and senior-high accounting
Azhar M.
Arabic Language Education, Institut Muslim Cendekia
A background in Arabic Language Education at Institut Muslim Cendekia gets Azhar reading and speaking Arabic every day. He gets Banjarmasin students comfortable with vocabulary through light conversation and short texts, until Arabic feels like a skill they genuinely use in daily life.
Expertise:
Conversational Arabic and reading

Learning journeys of Banjarmasin students, told by the parents who walked alongside them
Mrs. Sylviana R.
From Doubting Medical School to Passing ULM
Concern
My child wanted medicine but biology and chemistry scores kept fluctuating, and she hesitated to apply to ULM
What changed
After four months with a ULM tutor, my child was far more confident facing science questions because she understood the concepts from the ground up. She finally passed ULM Medicine through SNBT, and here in Banjarmasin Tengah we were grateful not to chase tutoring far from home.
Mr. Radhika V.
A Quiet Child Who Finally Spoke English
Concern
My child was shy and afraid to speak English in class, and his grades lagged
What changed
The tutor came to our home in Sungai Andai twice a week and chatted casually with my child in English. Three months later he dared to present at school. What put me at ease was that when an in-person visit was not possible he still studied through an online session without missing material.
Mrs. Amalia N.
Quran and Math Moving Forward Together
Concern
I wanted my child fluent in Quran while improving math, but managing two separate tutoring services was overwhelming
What changed
EduPoint arranged a UIN Antasari tutor for Quran and a ULM tutor for math in one tidy schedule. My child in Pemurus can now read the Quran with correct tajwid, and her math score rose from 60 to 82. Two things I once thought hard to run at the same time.

I have been studying TOEFL with an EduPoint tutor for several terms now and I am still going. The listening and structure drills follow a clear order, and my tutor patiently revisits the parts I am still hazy on. Studying from home in Teluk Dalam lets me focus without crossing the bridge into the city center.

Private Tutoring FAQ Banjarmasin
Common questions from private tutoring Banjarmasin students and learners in the City of a Thousand Rivers
Its strength is the Banjarmasin tutors who grew up in the same city as their students. Of our 300+ teachers, most are still studying or are alumni of ULM (Kalimantan's oldest state university, founded 1958), UIN Antasari, and Poliban. They know the entrance-test patterns of SMAN 1 and SMAN 7, and they feel the rhythm of a city split by the Martapura River, so schedules can dodge the after-work bridge queue. The person teaching at home is a Banjar local who knows this city's daily life.

Complete Guide
Private Tutoring Guide in Banjarmasin
Banjarmasin as a major city in Indonesia has very high academic competition. With 1,800+ registered learners and hundreds of top schools, competition to enter prestigious schools is getting tighter every year.
Private tutoring becomes an effective solution because it gives full attention to one student, unlike group tutoring which divides focus among 20-30 students. With private tutoring, learning materials can be tailored to specific student needs, pace follows the child's ability, and flexible schedules accommodate school activities.
Choosing the right tutor is a crucial step for your child's learning success. Here are the criteria to consider:
Academic Qualification
Ensure the tutor has relevant educational background, at least a bachelor's degree from a reputable university.
Teaching Experience
Choose a tutor with at least 2 years of experience teaching the required subject.
Teaching Method
A good tutor has various methods to adapt to the student's learning style.
Track Record
Check testimonials and results achieved by previous students.
At EduPoint Banjarmasin, all tutors have gone through 5 strict selection stages with only 12% acceptance rate. We ensure every tutor meets the highest quality standards.
Private tutoring is often assumed to cost more than a group tutoring centre. The difference is in what the fee buys:
| Aspect | Private tutoring | Group tutoring centre |
|---|---|---|
| Fee | Per session, for the number of meetings chosen | A class package set by the centre |
| Effective learning time | The whole session for one learner | Shared with the whole class |
| Customized material | ||
| Flexible schedule | ||
| No transport needed |
- 1Set Clear Goals
