Three PTN Pathways by the Numbers

Admission to state universities opens through three pathways with different selection bases. SNBP assesses academic achievement from report-card grades across semesters one to five plus portfolio and achievements, with no university entrance test. SNBT assesses ability through the UTBK score administered centrally. The Mandiri pathway follows each university's own policy, sometimes using the UTBK score, its own test, or report-card grades. Starting in 2026 there is an important adjustment in SNBP. SNBP participants must take the Academic Ability Test, or TKA, managed by Kemendikdasmen. TKA acts as a validator of the report-card grades uploaded by schools, aiming to keep the assessment fair. TKA is a test separate from UTBK, and UTBK remains the basis of the SNBT pathway. Using all three pathways in sequence widens the odds. SNBP is the first chance through grades, SNBT is the second chance through the test, and Mandiri is a later option if needed.
