The SKD Map: 110 Questions and a Maximum of 550
The CPNS SKD is taken in a single sitting on the BKN computer-assisted test (CAT) system: 110 questions in 100 minutes, extended to 130 minutes for blind candidates. The paper contains 30 items of the Civic Knowledge Test (TWK), 35 of the General Intelligence Test (TIU) and 45 of the Personal Characteristics Test (TKP). The highest possible score is 550, made up of 150 for TWK, 175 for TIU and 225 for TKP. That split already tells candidates something useful: the subtest with the most questions also holds the most points.
Each subtest is scored on its own logic. For TWK and TIU, each item answered correctly is worth 5 points, while a wrong or blank item is worth 0, so a guess costs nothing. In TKP all five options carry a score from 1 to 5, and the task is to find the highest one. As a result the three parts reward different practice habits: breadth of recall for TWK, speed and precision for TIU, and consistent judgement for TKP.
For the general formation in the 2024 round, the pass marks were set by Decree of the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform No. 321 of 2024: 65 for TWK, 80 for TIU and 166 for TKP. Each mark applies separately, so a strong TIU result cannot make up for a TWK score below 65. Anyone starting out should keep these three numbers in view from day one, because nearly every later decision, from topic weighting to the minute budget, refers back to them.
