Is Copilot AI available in Excel now?

Yes, Microsoft Copilot is available in Excel for Microsoft 365 subscribers. Copilot can help generate formulas, explain data patterns, and suggest analysis. We teach how to leverage Copilot effectively as an 'assistant' - but you still need to understand fundamentals so you can validate and optimize the results.

I use Google Sheets at work. Are these skills transferable?

Many concepts are transferable: formula logics, PivotTable, data cleaning mindset. But Power Query and Power Pivot are exclusive Excel features not available in Google Sheets. If your office uses Sheets, we can focus on advanced formulas and Apps Script. But for heavy-duty data analysis, Excel is still more powerful.

Is there a specific Excel version required?

For modern features like Dynamic Arrays (XLOOKUP, FILTER) and integrated Power Query, you need at least Excel 2019 or Microsoft 365. Excel 2016 works but Power Query must be installed separately. We recommend Microsoft 365 because you always get the latest feature updates including Copilot AI.
